Print Art & Photos was created by Rapids Reproductions to provide a fresh, new, way of serving our large format color customers. It was enabled by many years of acquisitions, mergers and a commitment to innovation. Rapids Reproductions began in 1952 as Standard Blueprint of Iowa, helping Architects, Engineers, Manufacturers, Surveyors and Graphic Artists. We have grown to 6 locations and one of the largest dealers of wide format reprographic equipment and supplies in the Midwest. Our reprographic services have grown from mostly blueprints to high speed digital document printing and large format color images of all types. With the acquisition of Tri-State Blueprint and Framing (established 1940 in Dubuque Iowa) we acquired an expertise in framing fine art and photographs. Another acquisition (Technigraphics in Iowa City) provided experience in color copying, offset printing and graphic design. We now have 6 graphic designers and framers on staff. With our long history of large format printing and framing we know the best equipment and media to produce the best reproductions possible. We also have a team of professionals that know how to use them. The result is a web site that provides quality prints professionally mounted and framed with the convenience of online ordering.
Thin & Thick Gallery Wrap
We use Lyve Canvas, the highest quality canvas on the market. It is archival certified by the Fine Art Trade Guild (FATG) for pH and lightfastness. FATG is an international organization with members in over 36 countries. They set and test standards, in order to protect the interests and concerns of consumers to ensure quality for art and framing supplies.
Free of all Optical Brightening Agents(OBA), Lyve Canvas utilizes a breakthrough technology called “Chromata White,” putting us years ahead of our competition. Usual OBA-free canvas has a yellowish tint. “Chromata White” canvas provides a bright white surface allowing the highest quality and truest color for your canvas. Opitical brighteners are more prone to distort color. “Chromata White” provides the most neutral, stable base for any print.
